This 4.0 mm contact diameter Banana connectors are made of gold-plated brass. The gold coating increases conductivity and corrosion resistance, but also reduces the erosion caused by frequent plugging and pulling apart of plugs and sockets, which benefits the service life.

At just 0.55 mOhm, the electrical resistance of the plug connection is very low and enables a short-term current carrying capacity of up to 70 A. To achieve this performance potential, the use of high-quality silicone cables with copper strands of 12 AWG or 4 mm² wire diameter is recommended.
